Tua Tagovailoa, the NFL's Dolphins quarterback, is facing calls to retire after his latest concussion: "It's not worth it."
A series of scary concussions have been had by Tagovailoa.
In a terrifying clash, Miami Dolphins quarterback Tua Tagovailoa sustained a concussion, leaving onlookers visibly shaken.
Tagovailoa left the game in the third quarter and did not return.
The recent concussion that Tagovailoa suffered on national television caused players and fans alike to question whether he should consider his future. Players such as former Dallas Cowboys wide receiver Dez Bryant, Super Bowl champion kicker Lawrence Tynes, and Hall of Famer Shannon Sharpe all wondered about Tagovailoa's future.
Did Mike McDaniel believe it was safe for Tagovailoa to play football after the team's loss to the Buffalo Bills?
McDaniel stated that from a medical perspective, he does not attempt to provide medical advice beyond his area of expertise. Instead, he supports his teammate. He believes it is not appropriate for him to forecast things outside of his non-medical field of expertise.
"We will discover more about Tua's condition tomorrow, as he will have ample time for evaluation. Afterward, we will have discussions and proceed accordingly. Like his teammates, Tua connected with them as a leader and tried to keep their spirits up. He will be in the office tomorrow to receive the necessary care."
In the game against the Bills at home in 2022, Tagovailoa appeared to sustain a concussion, but it was determined that he was actually dealing with a back injury, which caused him to stumble after hitting his head on the ground during a play.
In Week 4, Tagovailoa was injured against the Bengals and was tossed onto the Paycor Stadium turf in Cincinnati. As a result of the head injury, his fingers curled in a disturbing scene.
In the final game of the season, he sustained a concussion against the Green Bay Packers, resulting in him being unable to play for the remainder of the season.
