Dan Campbell, the head coach of the Detroit Lions, is selling his suburban Detroit home for increased privacy.
This week, Campbell and his wife Holly put up their 7,800-square-foot house in Bloomfield for sale at a price of $4.5 million.
"Dan Campbell informed Crain's Detroit Business that the home is beautiful and has plenty of space on two acres. However, the loss of the property led people to discover its location."
Crain's reported that a deal for the home was pending within 24 hours.
The buyers are "huge" Lions fans, said Ashley Crain, who is representing Campbell and the buyers in the sale.
Bloomfield Township Police stated that they will not tolerate any form of harassment after it was discovered where Campbell resided.
The police emphasized that everyone, including fans, should respect the privacy of individuals and their families.
Igor Larionov, a hockey Hall of Famer who played for the Detroit Red Wings, originally built the home in 2013.
Campbell was appointed by the Lions in 2021 to revive a team that had a 5-11 record the previous season.
The new general manager, Brad Holmes, traded away the franchise icon, Matthew Stafford, to the Los Angeles Rams in exchange for quarterback Jared Goff.
Campbell's initial season in Detroit was challenging, with the team finishing with a record of 3-12-1. However, they demonstrated progress as the year progressed.
In the second season of Campbell, the Lions ended up with a record of 9-8 and experienced a surge in performance towards the end, almost making it to the playoffs.
In 2023, the Lions experienced late-season success, finishing with a record of 12-5. However, they fell one win short of reaching the Super Bowl, losing to the San Francisco 49ers in the NFC championship game.
Despite an impressive performance from defensive end Aidan Hutchinson, who had five sacks in the loss, the Lions fell to the Tampa Bay Buccaneers 20-16 in Week 2, leaving them with a 1-1 start this season.
On Sunday, the Lions journey west to face the Arizona Cardinals in hopes of improving to 2-1, as their head coach prepares to relocate to a new residence.
