Tua Tagovailoa, the Miami Dolphins quarterback, sustained another frightening concussion during "Thursday Night Football," causing concern among Las Vegas Raiders head coach Antonio Pierce.

During a press conference on Friday, Pierce stated that he would be honest and advise the individual to retire because it's not worth it, as he has never witnessed anything like what has happened to him three times.

"The players' faces on the field showed the urgency to help Tua. I believe at some point, he will live longer than play football. Remember to take care of your family."

The Dolphins trailed the Buffalo Bills 31-10, with their offense positioned on Buffalo's 13-yard line. Facing fourth-and-four, the Dolphins required a touchdown to maintain a competitive edge.

At Hard Rock Stadium, Tagovailoa was tackled by safety Damar Hamlin after attempting to slide past the sticks, resulting in him hitting the ground and slamming his head on the turf.

The quarterback appeared disoriented and his hand began moving uncontrollably. He held his head as the Dolphins began crowding around him. Both the Bills and Dolphins players got down on one knee as the medical staff quickly ran out to assess the quarterback.

Instead of going into the blue medical tent, Tagovailoa walked off the field with trainers into the locker room, where they diagnosed him with a concussion.

During the 2022 season, Tagovailoa appeared to suffer a concussion in a Week 3 matchup against the Bills at home. However, it was later ruled that he had been dealing with a back injury, which led to him stumbling after noticeably smacking his head on the ground during a play.

In Week 4, while playing against the Cincinnati Bengals on "Thursday Night Football," Tagaovailoa was thrown to the ground and landed on the turf at Paycor Stadium in Cincinnati. As a result of the impact, his hands curled, a common occurrence with head injuries.

In Week 7, Tagovailoa was taken off the field on a stretcher but later returned to play.

In Week 16 of the season, Tagovailoa suffered another concussion against the Green Bay Packers and did not play the rest of the season.

In 2023, Tagovailoa led the NFL in passing yards and the Dolphins extended his contract for four years, worth $212.4 million, without missing a game.

Was it safe for Tagovailoa to continue playing football after the Dolphins' loss to the Bills, according to head coach Mike McDaniel?

""From a medical perspective, I don't approach things that I'm not proficient in. I'm just there to assist my teammate, as I mentioned earlier. I believe it's not appropriate for me to forecast things outside of my area of expertise," McDaniel stated to reporters."

"We will discover more about Tua's condition tomorrow, as he will have ample time for evaluation. Afterward, we will have discussions and proceed accordingly. Like his teammates, Tua connected with them as a leader and tried to keep their spirits up. He will be in the office tomorrow to receive the necessary care."

The Dolphins' next game is against the Seattle Seahawks on Sep. 22.
