Travis Kelce feels 'old as f---' heading into his 12th NFL season.
In his career, Kelce has appeared in 159 regular season contests.
Travis Kelce is not getting any younger.
On Thursday night, the Kansas City Chiefs will face the Baltimore Ravens, marking the beginning of Kelce's 12th season in the NFL.
On a recent episode of "New Heights with Jason and Travis Kelce," Jason Kelce, his brother, queried him about his feelings after training camp.
"I feel old as f--- after reading 12 seasons, but today in practice, I felt like I was flying," Travis Kelce said.
During his NFL career, Travis, now 34, has played numerous games.
Despite not starting his career with durability, the three-time Super Bowl champion has been exceptionally durable in 159 regular season games.
In 2013, Kelce sustained an injury to his knee during the preseason and played only one snap in his rookie season.
It was initially thought that the injury was a bone bruise, but later it was discovered that he had a cartilage problem that necessitated microfracture surgery, which ended his rookie season.
In his other 10 seasons, he has missed only four games after his rookie year.
During practice two days before the game, he sustained a knee hyperextension that resulted in a bone bruise, preventing him from playing in the season opener against the Detroit Lions last season.
In the previous season, Kelce did not participate in the Chiefs' Week 18 game to prepare for the playoffs since they had already secured their playoff spot.
He has played in a total of 181 games, including both regular season and playoffs.
The nine-time Pro Bowler has been a vital component of the Chiefs' Super Bowl victories. Despite his age, he caught 32 receptions for 355 yards and three touchdowns in four playoff games last season.
Jason believes that Travis' facial hair makes him appear older than he actually is, despite Travis already feeling old.
"Your mustache gives you an aged appearance. The presence of a mustache adds to your seasoned look. However, it also makes you appear powerful in a positive manner."
Travis hopes that his "powerful" appearance will aid him in leading the Chiefs back to the Super Bowl as they commence their pursuit of a third consecutive championship on Thursday against the Ravens.
