The Packers unveil their strategy for Aaron Rodgers prior to the last preseason contest.
The Jets' first two preseason games did not feature Rodgers' participation.
Aaron Rodgers will first don the New York Jets uniform in Week 1 of the regular season.
On Thursday, head coach Robert Saleh revealed that Rodgers and the rest of the Jets' starters will not play in their final preseason game against the New York Giants on Saturday.
On Tuesday, the 40-year-old quarterback stated that he was indifferent about participating in the preseason finale.
Rodgers stated that he is satisfied with his body and the progress he has made.
None of the Jets' projected starters will have played in any preseason games due to Saleh's decision. Last season, Rodgers and the starters played two series during preseason games.
This week, Rodgers stated that Saleh informed him that the starters had received approximately 300 more snaps compared to the previous year.
"Saleh stated that this year, they have had three different scrimmages and they feel that the amount of work they accomplished has been highly productive."
During training camp, the Jets engaged in joint practices with the Washington Commanders, Carolina Panthers, and Giants.
This year's training camp was "more challenging" for the four-time NFL MVP, who believes it may be the "toughest" in the past seven to eight years.
Saleh stated that his decision to benchmark his starters during the preseason was not motivated by the concern of players getting injured.
Getting hurt at practice is not the only risk, as it can also happen while brushing teeth. It's crucial to prepare properly and not solely rely on the coach's box to determine readiness for play.
"Have we truly benefited from playing them in Week 1? We've taken a different approach to preparing our players this offseason, and we hope it pays off."
On Saturday, besides Rodgers, backup Tyrod Taylor will also not play against the Giants. Last season's UFL MVP, Adrian Martinez, will start, and Andrew Peasley will play in the second half.
The Jets’ starters will face the 49ers in their Week 1 game on Sept. 9, marking their first time on the field.
