The Browns remove Tyler Huntley from their Pro Bowl roster.
In 2022, the Baltimore Ravens' Huntley was selected for the Pro Bowl.
On Thursday, the Cleveland Browns released former Pro Bowl quarterback Tyler "Snoop" Huntley.
One of four quarterbacks who made the initial 53-man roster, along with Deshaun Watson, Jameis Winston and Dorian Thompson-Robinson, is a 26-year-old.
Although Huntley had an impressive preseason performance with 146 yards and three touchdowns, he was still excluded from the team because of Thompson-Robinson's impressive training camp and preseason.
Cleveland signed Huntley to a one-year deal at the league minimum after serving as Lamar Jackson's primary backup with the Baltimore Ravens for the past three seasons.
In 10 starts for Baltimore, the former Raven went 3-7. Despite this, he was named to the Pro Bowl in 2022 after filling in for Jackson when he was injured.
D'Onta Foreman will replace Huntley on the roster as a running back, providing depth until Nick Chubb returns from knee surgeries.
In the early days of training camp in West Virginia, Foreman had a terrifying experience. He was rushed to a hospital in Virginia via helicopter after sustaining neck and back pain from a severe hit.
Despite missing a week of camp, Foreman scored a touchdown against the Minnesota Vikings in Cleveland's final two exhibitions.
The Browns made two moves involving quarterbacks on Thursday: they released Huntley and restructured Watson's contract for the third time.
This season, Andrew Berry, the general manager, is converting $44.79 million of Watson's $46 million base salary into a signing bonus, freeing up over $35 million in salary-cap space.
Watson had six starts last season before undergoing shoulder surgery, while the Browns were plagued by injuries at the quarterback position and started five different players.
In five starts, Joe Flacco led the Browns to a 4-1 record and qualified them for the playoffs. However, they were eliminated by the Houston Texans in the wild-card round.
The Cowboys face the Browns in their season opener at home on Sept. 8.
