Tampa Bay suffers defeat as Trevor Larnach of the Twins hits a line drive home run and accidentally injures a fan in the face.
The fan seemed to get hit by the baseball in the face.
During a recent game, Trevor Larnach, the Minnesota Twins outfielder, hit a deep drive to right-field. However, it resulted in some unforeseen outcomes.
In the second inning of the Twins' game against the Tampa Bay Rays, a home run ball struck a fan in the face, causing a bloody nose and knocking him unconscious.
The outfielder's bat propelled the baseball at an estimated 112.5 mph, causing the unlucky fan to miss the home run ball with his bare hands.
Medical personnel responded to the injured fan.
The man did appear to avoid any serious injuries.
"Larnach expressed relief during a postgame interview, stating, "Thankfully, he's okay." However, he added, "That was terrifying, man. I've never seen anything like that before. I'm glad I got to speak with him.""
The pivotal moment for the Twins came when Larnach hit a homer, resulting in a 5-4 victory over Tampa Bay in the first game of a four-game series.
In the National League Central division, the Cleveland Guardians led the Twins by 3.5 games on Tuesday.
Larnach added that he signed some autographs and checked on the injured fan.
"During the game, the clubhouse manager approached me and offered me the opportunity to sign a ball and a bat. As it was the last inning and I was playing right field, I took the time to chat with him because I was moved from left to right."
