Nearly a century since their last visit to Madison, the Alabama Crimson Tide dominates the game.
In 1928, Alabama last visited Camp Randall Stadium in Wisconsin.
On Saturday, Jalen Milroe, Alabama's quarterback, stood out as the Crimson Tide made a rare journey north of the Mason-Dixon line during the regular season.
Milroe scored three passing touchdowns and two rushing touchdowns, totaling 75 yards on the ground, to help Alabama win 42-10 against the Wisconsin Badgers at Camp Randall Stadium on Saturday.
"Milroe said, "Each time I get to touch the football field, I feel blessed and passionate about the game. Whenever we have an opportunity to make an explosive play, it's all about just having fun and falling back to why I play the game - to have fun and experience moments like that.""
Due to an injury sustained when he was tackled on a scramble, Tyler Van Dyke, the Wisconsin quarterback, had to leave the game early.
At the conclusion of the run, Van Dyke held his right knee and was eventually carried into the locker room. Although he observed the second half from Wisconsin's sidelines, he required the aid of crutches.
Van Dyke was replaced by Braedyn Locke, who ended the day with 125 passing yards, including a 3-yard touchdown to Will Pauling.
The Crimson Tide made their first trip to Madison since a 15-0 loss to Wisconsin in 1928, while Wisconsin suffered their most lopsided home loss since a 48-7 defeat against Penn State in 2008.
Jam Miller, an Alabama running back who scored a touchdown on a 34-yard run, attributed the team's offensive line for their successful day.
"It was great to see what that group can do," Miller said. "They were amazing today, creating holes for the running back and making a big pocket for the quarterback."
Wisconsin head coach Luke Fickell said the blowout loss was painful.
"Fickell stated that he would convey the same message to you that he just delivered to them. If you haven't experienced a "whooping" before, you just did. It is painful and not easy. However, in this game, it is inevitable. It is part of the process. It stinks. It does not indicate that you did not work hard or prepare. Instead, it means that you were unable to complete the task."
