If Anthony Richardson addresses one issue, Hall of Fame coach Tony Dungy believes he can become a top-five QB.

In the 2023 NFL Draft, the Colts chose Richardson with the fourth overall selection.

During Week 1, Anthony Richardson, the Indianapolis Colts quarterback, executed one of the most remarkable throws in the NFL.

The Colts quarterback recovered from slipping on his back foot and threw a 60-yard pass that resulted in a touchdown for Alec Pierce.

Although Richardson's play was impressive, the Colts still lost to the Texans 29-27, marking the beginning of their season.

Tony Dungy, a Pro Football Hall of Fame coach, discussed the play of the Colts' second-year quarterback on OutKick's "Don't @ With Dan Dakich."

Dungy believes that if he can master one skill, he has the potential to become an exceptional player. He must improve his ordinary throws to achieve this. Last week, he made a few throws that no one in the league can do, but he also missed some open opportunities. To succeed, he needs to accurately place the ball and maintain the momentum of the drive.

When I first joined the Steelers, my coach Chuck Noll imparted a valuable lesson to me. We had already won two Super Bowls, and he emphasized that champions excel in ordinary tasks, not just extraordinary feats.

"Currently, Anthony is excelling in making extraordinary plays, but he needs to improve in making ordinary, down-in-the-dumps decisions and accurate throws. Once he masteres these skills, he will be among the top five quarterbacks."

Richardson passed for 212 yards and two touchdowns while completing 9 out of 19 attempts in the loss to the Texans.

The Gators' standout player added 56 yards and a touchdown on six rushing attempts.

Last season, Richardson played four games before undergoing surgery on his injured right shoulder, which ended his season.

In those four games last season, Richardson completed 59.5% of his passes and emerged as a dual-threat quarterback, scoring a touchdown on foot in each game.

Richardson's accuracy issues trace back to his college days at Florida, where his completion percentage over 24 games was only 54.7%.

Although Richardson did not play as many games as his peers, the Colts, like Dungy, recognized his potential to become a top-five quarterback in the league when they drafted him with the fourth overall pick in the 2023 NFL Draft.

Dungy attributes some of the accuracy issues to a lack of games played.

Sometimes, success in football comes down to timing, anticipation, and repetition. However, we must remember that Anthony has limited experience in the sport. For instance, Bo Nix, the rookie quarterback for Denver, played 60 college games.

"Anthony is still in the early stages, and comparing him to Peyton Manning's performance over the years shows a significant difference in accuracy, timing, and small details. To improve, Anthony needs to play more football, practice more, and gain more experience."

On Sunday, the Green Bay Packers, without Jordan Love, will face the Colts, led by Richardson, as Richardson aims to secure the Colts' first win of the season.
