Even as NIL money continues to pour in, LSU's Olivia Dunne is charting a path for after college.
In the country, one of the highest-earning NIL athletes is Dunne.
Olivia "Livvy" Dunne, an LSU gymnast, has gained significant popularity due to social media.
TikTok saw the emergence of Dunne's content around 2020, featuring gymnastics participation. However, her content evolved to showcase more aspects of her life beyond the gym. The videos of Dunne dancing and skits helped her gain a following on the platform.
Her fame has made her a highly sought ambassador for various brands, and she has earned millions in NIL deals.
In July, Dunne declared she would go back to college for a fifth season, stating on social media, "I'm not done yet."
Dunne is preparing for another season of NCAA competition while also considering her future prospects.
Last year, when she spoke about her career opportunities, she pointed to her feature in Sports Illustrated.
Dunne expressed to the New York Post that he believed Sports Illustrated had the potential to endure beyond college.
"Creating a lasting brand is crucial post-college, and [SI Swim] is one such brand that I hold dear, like family to me."
Dunne mentioned that she hopes her success with NIL will inspire the next generation of female college athletes. She established the Livvy Fund, which assists female student-athletes at LSU in securing NIL deals.
Dunne stated that girls often struggle to determine where to begin due to the importance of capitalizing on their NIL while in college, as there are limited professional leagues for most women's sports after college.
"After finishing at LSU, I definitely want to do something overall and expand beyond LSU to help educate people and assist girls. My love for sports drives me to pursue something in that realm."
The gymnast has partnered with well-known brands such as Raising Cane's, American Eagle, Nautica, and Microsoft.
In addition to her 8.1 million TikTok followers, Dunne has more than 5 million Instagram followers and is currently dating Pittsburgh Pirates rookie pitcher Paul Skenes.
