Danny Jansen will make MLB history Monday.

In the same game, the 29-year-old catcher will be the first player to represent two teams.

On June 26, during the second inning of the game between the Toronto Blue Jays and the Boston Red Sox, Jansen, who was playing for the Blue Jays at the time, fouled a pitch from Red Sox starting pitcher Kutter Crawford, resulting in Jansen falling behind in the count, 0-1.

The game was suspended after the umpire called for the tarp due to the weather.

On Monday, instead of resuming his at-bat with the Blue Jays, Jansen will be behind the plate for the Red Sox.

On July 27, the Red Sox traded for Jansen, sending three minor leaguers to the opposing team. Prior to the trade, McGuire, who had been the starting catcher in the June 26 game, was optioned to the minor leagues.

In the scorebook, Jansen will be recorded as having had an at-bat as a Blue Jay and as a member of the Sox.

""I'm not sure if it's my thing, but it's definitely a cool thing. I'm grateful for it. Honestly, I didn't think I would be the first to hear about it. The game has been around for a long time and it's one of those rare and cool things that happen in this sport," Jansen said."

Red Sox manager Alex Cora announced Friday that Jansen would be catching.

"Let's make history," Cora said, as he catches.

With the Red Sox, Jansen has a .257 batting average and two home runs in 13 games.
