On Monday night, Aaron Rodgers played as the New York Jets' quarterback for the second time in two seasons.

In the season opener against the Buffalo Bills, the four-time NFL MVP sustained a season-ending Achilles tear on his fourth snap of the game.

A year after rehab, the 40-year-old returned to the field against the San Francisco 49ers, exactly one year after the Achilles tear.

Despite the absence of star 49ers running back Christian McCaffrey due to a calf injury, the Jets lost 32-19 to the 49ers Monday night.

On "The Pat McAfee Show," Rodgers talked about how his body felt during and after the game.

"I feel like I'll continue to become more comfortable as my body adapts to the environment," he stated.

"As I play more, the likelihood of mistakes increases, but I become more confident and relaxed. However, I am 100% confident in my abilities. Perhaps I can improve a little bit each week."

After getting back on the field, the quarterback reflected on his journey.

He felt an overwhelming sense of gratitude early in the game as he thought about all the different things that had happened over the last year, which was a year since his injury. A lot had changed in his life in the last year.

"The 20th season, rehab, and the ups and downs of the last year were all hitting me."

In the third quarter, Rodgers threw for 167 yards and connected with old Green Bay Packers teammate Allen Lazard for a touchdown. However, he also threw an interception.

Rodgers was asked how his Achilles felt.

"I only took two shots and felt good, but I got sacked once. The pass protection was great all night, and I feel more comfortable out there."

On Sunday at 1 p.m. ET, the Jets journey to confront the Tennessee Titans.
