Trump is traveling to Detroit for a church roundtable discussion with Black voters.
On "Fox & Friends First" Friday, 180 Church Pastor Lorenzo Sewell stated that the community values Trump's visit "so much" ahead of the meeting.
The former president's visit to value our voice in urban America is significant because sometimes we are overlooked in the Black vote.
Trump's Platinum Plan was the last time a president presented a plan specifically for the Black community, with an estimated $500 billion allocated for Black businesses and churches, according to Sewell.
"We will ask him to be accountable to the Platinum Plan he produced, as those metrics are important to us."
Sewell stated that he believes President Biden has neglected the Black community, which played a significant role in his election.
"I believe our current president has forgotten that his selection as vice president was due to the first Black president choosing him, and that he, in turn, chose a Black vice president."
Typically, people in urban America are seen as a meal and not included in conversations.
Sewell shared the importance of faith, regardless of political affiliation.
"Although we may have different voting preferences, we are all called to love the same Jesus Christ, who loved you unconditionally regardless of your background or political affiliation."
According to recent polls, minority voters seem to be losing support for President Biden. In May, surveys released by the New York Times, Siena College, and the Philadelphia Inquirer indicate that Trump is leading Biden in five out of the six key battleground states where he narrowly lost to Biden four years ago.
The polls show Biden leading Trump among Black voters by a significant margin, with Biden's support dropping from 87% in 2020 to 63% in the present polls. This could be a cause for concern for Democrats, as Black voters played a crucial role in helping Biden win Georgia and other swing states in the 2020 election.
If the results stand on Election Day, Trump receiving more than 20% of the Black vote would be the highest level of support by Black voters of a Republican presidential candidate in many years.
On "Fox & Friends" on Friday, former Detroit Police Chief James Craig stated that he has observed a change in sentiment among Black residents who are worried about the economy and illegal immigration.
Lawrence Jones spoke with a barber who shared that he has had numerous conversations with African American men in his barbershop. They frequently discuss politics, and many of them express a desire for change. While some may not openly voice their opinions, they still come to the barber for a safe space to share their thoughts.
