Johnson discusses Trump's unique qualities following assassination attempt meeting.
Johnson claims on 'Fox & Friends' that God saved Trump's life for the second time.
On Monday, House Speaker Mike Johnson, R-La., commended former President Donald Trump's response to the second attempt on his life in two months, stating that he was "resilient" and "in good spirits" following the situation's resolution on Sunday.
"Johnson stated on "Fox & Friends" that no American leader has faced as much criticism and yet remained as strong and resilient as he has."
"He is a unique individual who will not stop fighting for the American people. It was inspiring to meet with him after the event."
Kelly and Johnson visited the former president at Mar-a-Lago after Ryan Wesley Routh, 58, was arrested for allegedly carrying an AK-47 outside Trump International Golf Course in Palm Beach County, Florida, in an attempt to shoot Trump.
Johnson stated that the visit to Mar-a-Lago was delayed due to a local law enforcement incident that halted traffic, but he arrived at the same time as Trump.
In Butler, Pennsylvania, two months ago, a gunman named Thomas Matthew Crooks fired at an outdoor rally, nearly killing the former president. However, a bullet only grazed his ear, saving his life.
Johnson said surviving both close calls is more than a coincidence.
Kelly and I had a lengthy conversation with him about the fact that God has spared his life twice, which is something that no one can deny. I reminded him of George Washington, our first president, who was shot at during the French and Indian War but managed to evade being killed.
"The event occurred ironically just over 50 miles from where President Trump was shot on stage in Butler, Pennsylvania. These events are not mere coincidences. I believe they are the work of Providence."
