HR McMaster claims that the Biden-Harris administration is in "denial" about the botched Afghanistan withdrawal.
The former Trump national security adviser claims that the Biden administration was misled about the Taliban.
H.R. McMaster, the former Trump National Security Adviser, stated that the Biden administration is in "denial" about the disastrous 2021 Afghanistan withdrawal, which resulted in the deaths of 13 U.S. service members and ultimately allowed the Taliban to take control of the country.
"McMaster stated on "America's Newsroom" on Monday that they are still grappling with the aftermath of August 2021, which he referred to as a "stain.""
"As we remember the sacrifice of these brave service members, we are also witnessing a resurgence of jihadist terrorist organizations. However, the Biden administration has been telling themselves lies about the distinction between the Taliban and other terrorist organizations."
The suicide bombing at Hamid Karzai International Airport on Aug. 26, 2021, resulted in the deaths of 13 American service members and over 100 Afghans. Islamic State terrorists admitted responsibility for the attack.
As vice president, Kamala Harris was the last person in the room when President Biden made the decision to proceed with the withdrawal, just four months before the attack.
According to McMaster, the author of "At War With Ourselves," there are at least 65 terror cells operating inside Afghanistan, and terrorists have taken control of the state. He stated that the threat of jihadist terrorism has increased significantly, but that's not the only problem related to the botched withdrawal.
McMaster stated that he believes there is a direct correlation between August 2021 and the renewed invasion of Ukraine in February 2022. He believes that Putin saw the disarray and humiliation of our departure and thought, "These guys are finished... and I'm going to have my way with Ukraine."
Since the Taliban regained power in Afghanistan, women have been set back, but the Biden administration has been mostly silent on the issue.
The Taliban government prohibited women from speaking publicly and showing their faces in public under new laws, which were approved by the supreme leader in an attempt to control immorality and uphold virtue.
McMaster stated that they are in denial about it completely.
"The individuals who praised the rights associated with their own human rights perspective subsequently abandoned the Afghan people. They left them behind, just as a bus would do. What is most concerning about this time period is that we negotiated a withdrawal, essentially a surrender, as I would put it. This was a self-defeat, at least."
