Some allies are urging Kamala Harris to conduct more interviews: "You can't conceal yourself for 56 more days"
Since being named the Democratic Party's nominee, Harris has shied away from formal press conferences.
A new report reveals that political strategists and Democratic politicians are divided on Vice President Harris' media strategy, with her continuing to avoid official press conferences with reporters.
Chuck Rocha, a Democratic strategist, advised NBC News that to keep the press away from one's personal life, one only needs to do enough national work.
Since the formation of the Harris-Walz ticket, Trump and Vance have conducted 48 interviews, while the Democratic ticket has only had eight non-scripted interviews.
"Rocha believes that while it's important for her to conduct interviews in battleground states, national interviews are not as effective in swaying voters. He argues that the media landscape has become too broad, making it less impactful. However, he notes that in the past, when there were only three channels, national interviews carried more weight."
Independent voters reported that despite most pundits thinking she won the debate, former Vice President Biden still seemed to evade specific answers to significant questions.
A Democratic strategist, speaking anonymously to NBC News, stated that it is unlikely to evade media interviews for 56 additional days.
"The strategist stated that the biggest issues with her are due to people not knowing enough about her. It will take more than one debate and one CNN interview to address this issue. The strategist emphasized that voters want to know who they are voting for and what they stand for, and they want to see them tested. It is a risky strategy to use a four-corners defense when there is still time left in the game."
An NBC News source, referred to as a "Harris ally," advised her to increase her interactions with the media in the months prior to the election.
According to a source close to Harris, winning this election won't be achieved through TV commercials.
Some strategists believe that Harris should concentrate on swing states with her media strategy.
Democratic strategist Paul Maslin advised NBC News to focus on the seven battleground states with both paid and unpaid communication.
He remarked that he believed she wouldn't care about the national media.
Planet Chronicle Digital did not receive an immediate response from the Harris campaign when requested for a comment.
Planet Chronicle' Brian Flood and David Rutz contributed to this report.
