Two Teens Arrested for Shooting Popular Missouri Chef Outside His Irish Restaurant
Brady & Fox Restaurant & Lounge was owned and operated by Shaun Brady, 44.
On Wednesday afternoon, a renowned chef from Kansas City, Missouri was fatally shot outside of his restaurant. Two teenage boys were apprehended by the police shortly after the incident.
A 44-year-old chef was shot while taking out the trash behind his Brady & Fox Restaurant & Lounge, according to the Kansas City Police Department.
At approximately 5:18 p.m., Brady was shot several times and died in the hospital.
"The restaurant expressed its grief after the shooting by writing on Facebook, "Our hearts are shattered. We have no words to convey our sadness, anger, and frustration. Our community stands with Shaun's family in solidarity forever. We thank you for your support, offers to help, and your love. Together, we will mourn, recover, and heal.""
Brady, who co-owned the restaurant with chef Graham Farris, requested privacy for his family.
The police have not disclosed the motive for the shooting of Brady or what he and the suspects discussed prior to the incident.
A short distance away from where they were apprehended, the suspects' car was discovered.
According to witnesses, Brady attempted to prevent the suspects from entering a car.
Pat O'Neill, a longtime friend of Brady, spoke to FOX4 about Brady's character.
"Pat O'Neill, Brady's friend and a member of the Irish community, told the station that the community was stunned upon hearing of Brady's death. O'Neill described Brady as a beloved figure, a native of Ireland, and a selfless individual who always went above and beyond to help others. As a result, the community was left feeling stunned, praying, angry, and wondering why such a good person had to pass away."
