A 2-year-old girl from Michigan was fatally struck by a car after being put to bed and walking out of the house.
Police said that investigators were examining the circumstances surrounding the child's escape from her home after her parents put her to sleep.
Last week, a 2-year-old girl was fatally struck by a vehicle after her parents put her to bed, and the Michigan State Police are currently investigating the incident.
On September 13, at 8:20 p.m., troopers were dispatched to a "Car vs Pedestrian Traffic Crash" in Allen Township, which is 115 miles west of Detroit, according to police.
A 2-year-old female toddler was discovered lying in the road upon the arrival of troopers on the scene.
The toddler, whose identity remains unknown, was transported to Hillsdale Hospital and eventually passed away, according to authorities. The girl's parents placed her in bed inside their home before she left, police stated.
"As the parents were busy with chores at home, the child left her room and exited the house. She then strolled onto Chicago St and was struck by a 2012 VW Jetta driven by a 38-year-old man from Michigan."
An autopsy was expected to be performed, police said, as alcohol or drugs did not seem to have contributed to the fatal incident.
The state police told Planet Chronicle Digital it had no new information.
