Trump's Mar-a-Lago sees another arrest of a Chinese citizen for trespassing.
Over the past few months, Zijie Li, 39, has repeatedly tried to gain entry to Mar-a-Lago in an attempt to have a conversation with Trump, according to authorities.
An individual who repeatedly attempted to gain entry to Mar-a-Lago, the Florida home of President-elect Trump, was apprehended on Thursday, according to officials.
An arrest affidavit states that Zijie Li, 39, made one of several attempts to enter the Palm Beach club in order to speak with Trump.
He is currently in custody at the Palm Beach County Main Detention Center on a bail of $100,000, after being charged with a second trespass offense in addition to a pending charge from July.
An officer wrote in an affidavit that the Palm Beach Police Department, after speaking with the United States Secret Service, believes that if Li continues to attempt to enter Mar-a-Lago to contact the President Elect, it may be necessary to use a higher level of enforcement.
The Palm Beach Police Department has been contacted by Planet Chronicle Digital regarding inquiries from the Secret Service.
On July 19, six days after the first assassination attempt on Trump, Li attempted to enter Mar-a-Lago. Security around the club was increased following the attempt on Trump's life during a rally in Butler, Pennsylvania.
According to reports, Li was stopped by the Secret Service at the main gate of Mar-a-Lago.
A Secret Service agent was informed by him that he possessed information indicating China's involvement in the initial assassination attempt against Trump and wished to provide evidence.
At the Republican National Convention in Milwaukee, Trump was not present when local police issued him a trespass warning.
Li drove to Palm Beach at least four times after the incident and attempted to enter Mar-a-Lago, but was not successful, according to the affidavit. On July 22, footage from town security cameras showed that he drove over the Royal Park Bridge twice, first in the morning and then in the afternoon, as stated in the arrest report.
On July 30, Li was in Palm Beach, placing paperwork about Trump on vehicles. Trump had returned from Wisconsin that day and was at Mar-a-Lago.
The next day, Li was arrested for allegedly trespassing at Mar-a-Lago. As a condition of his bond, he was required to maintain a distance of 500 feet from the club.
On Oct. 30, Li requested assistance from a nearby resident to gain entry into the club, according to police. Li is accused of asking the resident if they were a member at Mar-a-Lago and if they would allow him onto the property, authorities stated.
Florida's Baker Act facilitates temporary detention of individuals due to mental health concerns, as evidenced by the resident's "Baker Acted" status.
Li was released on Thursday and returned to Mar-a-Lago at around 5 p.m. before being arrested. An assistant state attorney informed WPTV that Li was in the U.S. on a student visa from California.
