A North Carolina woman's car was escaped by Python at Chili's.
The owner of the stolen Python was reunited with their pet after it was recovered by police in North Carolina.
A loose python was discovered at a North Carolina Chili's, causing more than what was ordered.
On Nov. 5, the Shallotte Police Department received a call about a large snake in the area and posted on Facebook that they believed it was someone's pet.
"Christen Schiel, who told WECT that the beautiful snake is his baby girl, Una, said that she is the best snake anyone could ever have. He has been missing her deeply for the past two months. However, he believes that she must have been hiding in his car and came out at the wrong time when he was at Chili's around 2:30 p.m. yesterday."
In North Carolina, pythons are legal pets according to a law in the southeastern state.
Schiel identified Una as a ball python, and their name comes from their behavior of curling themselves up into a tight ball. According to Petco, they are native to the grasslands of western and Central Africa.
The day after police recovered it, Schiel was reunited with her pet, which she calls "baby girl."
"Schiel revealed to the local TV station that he couldn't sleep because he was grieving and he became depressed, eventually breaking down in tears. He emphasized that losing a reptile is just as emotionally devastating as losing a dog or a cat for many people."
The owner of the python stated that she had been dealing with dehydration, had shed some pounds, and had sustained minor injuries, but was making progress towards recovery.
