A Texas woman shot an armed man who attempted to forcefully enter her home, according to police.
A woman, unidentified, fired shots at 35-year-old Octavio Flores Mondragon as he entered her home.
On Friday, a Texas woman fired at an armed man who was trying to break into her house, as per local authorities.
At approximately 7:54 p.m. on Friday, the DeSoto Police Department dispatched officers to the 400 block of Raintree Circle in response to a female caller reporting an unknown man with a pistol in her backyard.
The man tried to break into the house through the back garage door while on a 911 call.
Gunshots were reported in the area by neighbors on the street who called 911.
The woman called the police and they arrived at her house within three minutes. Upon arrival, she informed them that she believed she had shot the man in the back of the house.
In the garage of the home, police discovered Octavio Flores Mondragon, a 35-year-old man, lying on the ground with a pistol beside him. He had sustained two gunshot wounds, one to the chest and one to the face.
He was taken to a local hospital in critical condition.
According to FOX 4 Dallas-Fort Worth, a woman reported seeing a dark truck following her home after she left a Taco Bell. The truck followed her into her neighborhood and parked behind her car in her driveway.
The woman, upon entering her home, called 911 and brandished a pistol. When Mondragon tried to enter, she fired at him several times, hitting him twice.
First-degree burglary of a habitation with intent to commit another felony is the charge against Mongradon, according to police. However, a motive for the crime has not been established.
