On Monday, Robert F. Kennedy Jr. officially lost his U.S. Secret Service (USSS) protection, following his withdrawal from the 2024 presidential race just days earlier.

Kennedy's press secretary announced the change in USSS protection for him to CBS News. Kennedy had undergone a lengthy process to obtain USSS protection, with his initial requests being rejected prior to the current cycle.

Kennedy received Secret Service protection only after the assassination attempt on former President Donald Trump in July.

Following the weekend events, President Trump has instructed me to collaborate with the Secret Service to safeguard Robert Kennedy Jr. This directive applies to both the time leading up to and following the events of the past weekend, as announced by Homeland Security Secretary Alejandro Mayorkas shortly after the shooting.

Despite withdrawing from the race on Friday, the candidate endorsed former President Trump.

On Sunday, Kennedy discussed his support for a "unity government" with Trump, stating that the former president agreed to address the issues that led to his campaign, including ending the war in Ukraine, combating censorship, and improving children's health in the U.S.

Pollsters in Trump's campaign report that Kennedy's supporters are shifting towards the former president. Prior to Kennedy's withdrawal, polls showed him receiving 5% to 6% support in crucial swing states such as Pennsylvania and Ohio.

Trump may soon reveal additional members for the unity government, as Kennedy has hinted.

President Trump's Unity Government will have more additions, as he wrote on X.

On Sunday, Kennedy defended his decision to endorse Trump on "Planet Chronicle Sunday," stating that Americans can still work together despite their differences and focus on progress in areas of agreement.
