Yulia Putintseva responds to criticism over her interaction with US Open ball girl.
The ball girl accused Putintseva of disrespect and attempting to humiliate her.
Yulia Putintseva of Kazakhstan continues to express regret after her unsportsmanlike conduct at the U.S. Open, where she was accused of humiliating a ball girl during her third round defeat.
On Wednesday, Putintseva, 29, issued a second apology on social media as criticism persisted following the awkward interaction where she appeared to give the ball girl a cold shoulder during her 6-3, 6-4 loss to Italy's Jasmine Poalini on Saturday.
Putintseva, visibly frustrated, stood motionless as the ball girl tossed her two tennis balls, allowing each one to bounce into her before finally making an attempt to catch the third.
The girl was humiliated and disrespected by fans due to her performance. Putintseva apologized, stating that she was upset by it.
In a second apology, she denied doing anything disrespectful and turned her attention toward her critics.
"The world can judge someone harshly based on a brief 3-second video that only shows one side of the story, even though there may be more to it, as she wrote on Instagram. She shared her experience of losing a close tennis match."
She included two pictures that she says show her emotions at the moment.
"As you can see from the picture, I was extremely disappointed after the game and almost cried because I didn't perform better. At that moment, the girl handed me the ball, which I didn't even notice because I was so engrossed in my thoughts."

Kate was described as "very nice" by Putintseva, who stated that she was working on something special for her. Putintseva also emphasized that she never viewed herself as above anyone.
"I am not perfect all the time, and I sometimes get angry, say stupid things, and curse like crazy on court. However, I never put myself above anyone. I hope you can understand this now from a different perspective. After all, I know that haters will always hate."
