Sue Bird believes that Caitlin Clark is a clear choice for Rookie of the Year.
On Thursday, Clark became the quickest player in WNBA history to reach 100 3-pointers.
Sue Bird, a four-time WNBA champion, is strongly supporting her choice for Rookie of the Year.
Bird stated that she attended Friday's game between the Indiana Fever and the Chicago Sky, which many viewed as a defining moment in the Clark vs. Angel Reese for ROY race.
Bird had already made her decision before the Fever defeated the Sky in the 100-81 win.
Bird stated on the podcast that the game was highly anticipated because many people believed it had Rookie of the Year implications.
"Since the All-Star break, I have believed that Cailtin was the Rookie of the Year. She has consistently demonstrated this."
The Fever team received high praise from Bird for clinching their first playoff berth since 2016.
"Kelsey Mitchell is on an incredible streak and shooting the absolute you-know-what out of the ball," Bird said of the Indiana Fever. "You can’t talk about the team without her right now."
On Wednesday night, Clark argued for Rookie of the Year.
In a season, she became the fastest player in WNBA history to reach 100 3-pointers and finished with a second career triple-double of 24 points, 10 rebounds, and 10 assists in the Fever's 93-86 win over the Los Angeles Sparks.
In the WNBA, Clark was the first rookie and fifth player overall to achieve multiple triple-doubles in a season.
