Report suggests Jordan Love of the Packers may have avoided ACL injury, but further tests are needed.
The team's return to Green Bay will bring more testing for love.
Jordan Love, the Green Bay Packers quarterback, appears to have escaped a severe injury in Friday's defeat to the Philadelphia Eagles, but his recovery is not yet certain.
The Packers made a final attempt to score a game-winning touchdown in the final drive, but Love, 25, went down in the final seconds.
Love passed backwards to Josh Jacobs after facing pressure from Jalen Carter and Josh Sweat, but Carter wrapped around Love's left leg and pushed him to the ground as Sweat pushed him.
Love appeared to be in serious pain as he lay on the ground.
The instant replay was concerning, despite his ability to walk off the field with the help of trainers.
The injury that was initially believed to be a high ankle sprain was caused by a pop in the quarterback's knee during the replay.
When asked about Love's status after the game, head coach Matt LaFleur responded with "I don’t know" twice.
On Saturday morning, the Packers received hopeful news that Love did not sustain an ACL injury, as reported by the NFL Network's Tom Pelissero. However, he will undergo further testing, including an MRI, when the team returns to Green Bay.
While helping the Packers reach the playoffs, Love sustained an injury after signing a four-year, $220 million extension this summer. He completed 64.2% of his passes for 4,159 yards with 32 touchdowns and 11 interceptions last season.
If Love is absent for a considerable period, Malik Willis will replace him as the backup quarterback. Green Bay also has Sean Clifford on its practice squad for 2023.
