Ravens suffer 4th-quarter comeback on the road at the hands of raiders.
Baltimore's 0-2 start to the year is due to Davante Adams' late touchdown and critical defensive stops.
Despite having the best record in the NFL last season, the Baltimore Ravens are currently 0-2 after a Las Vegas Raiders comeback in the fourth quarter on Sunday.
The Ravens were defeated by the Raiders, 26-23, in a surprising upset on the road, orchestrated by Antonio Pierce and his team.
Despite their impressive performance in Kansas City, the Ravens lost to the Raiders at home due to Lamar Jackson and the offense's struggles in generating drives.
The Raiders managed to get the defense off the field as Baltimore had 383 total yards of offense but went 3 of 11 on third down.
Daniel Carlson hit his fourth field goal of the game from 38 yards out, taking the lead with 27 seconds to play.
Despite having a renowned boot capable of making field goals from 60 yards, Justin Tucker, the Ravens' placekicker, has been struggling to hit targets from 50 yards and beyond, including a missed 56-yarder in the first half that cost the team.
Despite not having any timeouts left and only 30 seconds remaining, Jackson attempted a lateral play in a desperate effort to end the game, but it lacked any magic.
The drive prior to Carlson's kick, led by Raiders quarterback Gardner Minshew, was what Las Vegas needed to get in the position to kick a game-winner in the first place.
The Raiders' defense forced a three-and-out, and Minshew got the ball at the 30-yard line. He needed a touchdown to tie the game. The result was a nine-play, 70-yard drive that ended with a cheeky pass to Davante Adams from the one-yard line, resulting in a tie after the extra point, 23-23.
Despite facing a challenging Ravens defense, Minshew was productive with 276 yards on 30-of-38 passing, including a touchdown to Adams and an interception. Adams ended the game with nine catches for 110 yards, while rookie tight end Brock Bowers had nine receptions for 98 yards.
Zay Flowers led Baltimore with seven catches and 91 yards, while Jackson was 21 of 34 for 247 yards, including a touchdown to Flowers and one interception.
The Raiders had a massive defense, with Maxx Crosby collecting two sacks against the tough Jackson in tackling. Robert Spillane led the team with 10 tackles and caught the lone interception.
