Eagles fan takes action to conceal fake political advertisements supporting Kamala Harris.
City officials stated their efforts to remove the unlawful posters.
One Philadelphia Eagles fan is unhappy with the "fake" political ads supporting Vice President Kamala Harris that spread on social media on Monday.
Joe from South Philly, identified by FOX 29, covered up a cartoon ad at a bus shelter that depicted Harris in an Eagles helmet with a caption that read, "Kamala, official candidate of the Philadelphia Eagles."
Joe, a lifelong Philadelphia resident from South Philly, is deeply passionate about the Eagles and remains loyal to them until the very end, as he shared with reporter Steve Keeley.
Joe's concern is not that someone is expressing an opinion, but that this person is lying to everyone about the Philadelphia Eagles endorsing Kamala Harris as a presidential candidate in the US. He is particularly concerned about the spread of false information.
"Pennsylvania's election battleground is Philadelphia, and such falsehoods undermine the integrity of the voting process."
The Eagles issued a statement after the poster became viral on social media, stating that the ads were not an official endorsement from the organization.

Six fake ads were reportedly seen in the city. Joe covered up a fake ad at 34th & Walnut by printing out and posting copies of the Eagles' statement.
"The point is to obtain the truth from candidates, their staff, and all individuals involved."
By Tuesday, the city will remove all "illegally placed posters," as stated by a city spokesperson to NBC Philadelphia.
"The unauthorized placement of posters in a securely covered bus shelter ad space was not a digital breach. The person responsible for this act broke into the shelter and put the posters in the space. The Intersection has advised the City's Office of Transportation and Infrastructure Systems (OTIS) to conduct a full inventory of all bus shelters tomorrow and remove any illegal posters. The City has a process to review all bus shelter ads, but this was not a digital ad."
