During the MLB All-Star Game, Giants pitcher Logan Webb admits to being hungover: "Keep it together"
The National League's 3-0 lead over Webb was blown in the 3rd inning.
Earlier this season, an MLB All-Star went overboard with the celebrations in Arlington, Texas.
During the MLB All-Star Games, San Francisco Giants veteran starter Logan Webb admitted that he was hungover, which led to him blowing a 3-0 lead for the National League.
On the "Rose Rotation" podcast, Webb admitted that he got carried away at a post-Home Run Derby party with an open bar.
The day of the All-Star Game was likely one of my most hungover days, but I take responsibility for it. I had a great time and it was a cool experience. I'm now watching the Derby. They had a postgame players' celebration, like a party for the players and their families.
"In the center of the Cowboys stadium, Lil’ Jon was spinning tunes. The drinks were free and I relished the moment. However, my joy was short-lived when my wife woke me up at seven in the morning to get her makeup done, and I groaned, "Oh no, this is going to be a long day.""
The hangover remedies Webb tried did not work, but the All-Star Game was not immediately after he woke up.
Webb is warming up to enter the All-Star Game at Globe Life Field.
"I was nervous, excited, and had a lot of Red Bulls. I got Tylenol to help with my hangover. I regret wasting all my good pitches in the bullpen."
When Webb's name was called to enter the game, he was solely focused on one thing.
"Webb kept repeating to himself, "Don't throw up, don't throw up, don't throw up, don't throw up," as he ran a long distance. He thought that his first pitch almost didn't make it to Dodgers catcher Will Smith."
As Webb started, Semien singled and Kwan walked, putting two runners on right away. Webb got an out when Henderson grounded out, but that put runners on second and third with one out and Soto coming up.
Soto hit a two-RBI double, and Fry tied the game with an RBI single, bringing Soto home.
"I felt terrible after leaving the game, as 7 million people watched. I thought the team would hate me, so I kept saying 'My bad' in the dugout. Every superstar on the National team was like, 'Who cares?' and 'Who gives a f---?'. I walked down hearing only 'Who cares?' and 'Who f---ing cares?'. That made me feel better about myself."
Webb's teammates-for-a-game were not bothered by him blowing the lead, but he wanted to perform better in front of the baseball fans. He also observed that Shohei Ohtani would have won MVP if he had hit a homer in his first at-bat, and the Los Angeles Dodgers star is highly popular among fans.
In his sixth season with the Giants, Webb is pitching in his first All-Star Game. He leads the National League in innings pitched (189.2) with a 3.46 ERA.
