During a home invasion attempt at his California mansion, Reggie Bush successfully fends off the burglar.
The estimated value of Bush's mansion is approximately $5.65M.
On Tuesday, Reggie Bush, a former Heisman trophy winner, prevented a burglar from entering his mansion in Encino, California, according to the Los Angeles Police Department, as reported by TMZ.
In the San Fernando Valley region of Los Angeles, Bush resides in a $5.65 million gated property with an alarm system, surveillance cameras, and a gate.
At approximately 11 p.m. on Tuesday, Bush was present at home when he yelled, causing the suspect to flee.
According to multiple reports, police officers found shards of broken glass on the ground behind the house when they arrived, indicating that at least one suspect had fled by jumping out one of the windows of the house.
This week, Bush defended his home, adding to his recent history of defending his prized possessions following the return of his Heisman trophy.
In 2010, the 2005 Heisman Trophy winner forfeited the trophy due to a yearslong investigation that revealed he and his family received benefits from a non-affiliated sports agent. As a result, his Heisman victory and the games he played at USC in 2005 were vacated.
Nearly 15 years after he voluntarily returned it, the Heisman Trophy Trust formally reinstated Bush's trophy in April.
In August 2023, he sued the NCAA for defamation, alleging that a July 2021 statement falsely stated that he was involved in a pay-to-play arrangement, which led to the NCAA not restoring his collegiate records that were vacated in 2010.
USC's Pete Carroll coached Bush, who set records as a running back and was picked by the New Orleans Saints in the first round of the 2006 NFL Draft.
Bush played for five different NFL teams during his 11-year career, including the Saints, Dolphins, Lions, Bills, and 49ers.
Recently, Bush has commended the NCAA for the new college football playoff format, stating that it should have been implemented earlier, specifically with the expansion to a 12-team format.
"While discussing his excitement to be part of Team Modelo, headlining the full-time fan recruiting contest, Bush stated that every other sport, including high school football, has a true playoff system," Planet Chronicle Digital reported.
"College football is the only sport without a true playoff system, which I believe is unfair, especially since we were co-national champs with LSU in 2003. We wish we could have played LSU for the No. 1 spot, but we didn't get that chance."
