Dolphins suffer a blowout loss as Tua Tagovailoa is concussed in a collision with Damar Hamlin.
The Dolphins have lost to the Bills 12 out of the past 13 meetings.
On Thursday night, Damar Hamlin sustained a serious injury during primetime.
On a terrible night for the Miami Dolphins, they suffered a 31-10 loss to the Buffalo Bills, with quarterback Tua Tagovailoa sustaining a concussion in the third quarter. The injury was caused by a tackle from Bills safety Damar Hamlin, who tragically suffered an on-field cardiac arrest in January 2023.
Prior to the injury, Tua had only gained 145 yards with one touchdown and three interceptions, leaving Miami in a 31-10 deficit.
Skylar Thompson, the Dolphins backup, failed to lead a touchdown drive after Tagovailoa was injured. His first series resulted in a sack on a critical fourth down deep inside Buffalo territory.
Miami's second-year running back De'Von Achane was the only bright spot in the team's performance. Despite an ankle injury, Achane looked healthy on the field and finished the game with 96 rushing yards, 69 receiving yards, and the Dolphins' only touchdown.
The Bills walked away with a lot to be unhappy about.
Despite the departure of wide receivers Stefon Diggs and Gabe Davis in the offseason, quarterback Josh Allen has demonstrated his ability to lead a potent offense.
Through the first two games of the season, Allen has discovered dependable objectives in Khalil Shakir and Ty Davis.
Against Miami, James Cook, the Buffalo running back, was a significant ground force, rushing for 78 yards and two touchdowns, with an average of 7.1 yards per carry.
Miami's playoff teams have been particularly affected by the Bills' dominance in their recent meetings, with the Bills having won 12 of their last 13 games against the Dolphins.
In 2022, the Dolphins lost the Bills in the first round of the playoffs after squandering their division lead. Last season, Miami had a chance to win the division in Week 18 against the Bills but lost 21-14, falling into a wild card spot.
Despite the motivation from recent history, the Dolphins suffered another loss on Thursday night, with their quarterback getting injured.
