Caitlin Clark sets new WNBA single-season assist record.
This season, the third WNBA single-season record has been broken by Clark's assist record.
Caitlin Clark has done it again.
Against the Las Vegas Aces on Friday, the Indiana Fever rookie sensation set a new WNBA single-season assist record with her 317th assist of the season.
A'ja Wilson broke the league's single-season scoring record with 956 points during an 86-75 Las Vegas win on Wednesday, just two days ago.
Angel Reese broke the WNBA's single-season rebound record in the Chicago Sky's 79-74 loss at Minnesota Sept. 1, surpassing Sylvia Fowles' record of 404 set in 2018.
But Clark took back the spotlight Friday night.
Against the Minnesota Lynx last Friday, Clark made her 103rd 3-pointer of the season, securing her place at the top of the Fever's all-time list for 3-pointers in a single season.
In a game against the Los Angeles Sparks, she achieved her 100th 3-pointer of the season, a feat that she accomplished faster than any player in league history.
Candace Parker, Courtney Williams, Sabrina Ionescu, and Alyssa Thomas are the other players in the exclusive club of recording more than one triple-double in a season, along with the recently retired player who was the first rookie and the fifth WNBA player to achieve this feat.
In the previous week, against the Dallas Wings, Clark achieved the 595th point of her career, surpassing WNBA legend Tamika Catchings for the most in a single season by a rookie in Fever history.
In her most recent game against Reese and the Sky on Aug. 30, Clark achieved a historic feat by having the first 30-point, 12-assist game in WNBA history. Additionally, Clark became the fifth player and the first rookie to record at least 30 points and 10 assists in a game. Furthermore, Clark now holds the WNBA record for most double-doubles by a guard in a single season, with 12 double-doubles to her name.
Rhyne Howard's record for most made 3-pointers by a rookie was surpassed by Clark three days ago, who finished with 19 points, five rebounds, and five assists as Indiana won its 15th game.
That same night, Clark achieved a remarkable feat by becoming the first WNBA player to have at least 15 points, five rebounds, and five assists in six consecutive games. This accomplishment put her in an exclusive group with Diana Taurasi, as she had also achieved this feat in her 10th straight game with at least 15 points and five rebounds.
In eight years, the Fever has made it to the playoffs under Clark's leadership.
