It is anticipated that Sean Curran, who leads President-elect Trump's personal Secret Service security team, will succeed as the agency's director.
On X Friday, Donald Trump Jr. announced that his father, President-elect Trump, would be appointing Sean Curran, head of his personal detail, as Secret Service Director.
"Sean is an exceptional patriot who will put an end to all insanity. There's no one better suited for this role!"
During a failed assassination attempt in Butler, Pennsylvania, Curran was among the group of heroic agents who shielded Trump with their bodies, resulting in two deaths and an injury to the candidate's ear.
Photos show Trump and Curran standing side by side, with blood on their faces and fists raised, eliciting applause from the crowd.
Firefighter Corey Comperatore, 50, and two others, David Dutch, 57, and James Copenhaver, 74, were shot by an assailant. While Comperatore passed away from his injuries, the other two survived.
Trump commended his personal detail and defended them from criticism following the incident.
Bill Gage, a former Secret Service agent who worked under presidents George W. Bush and Barack Obama, stated that Trump desired someone he could rely on, and they have formed a strong bond since Pennsylvania.
"Despite the errors in Butler, the mistakes were made by the advance team. The agents assigned to Trump and Curran executed their training perfectly."
Curran maintains a low profile but is often pictured at Trump's side.
He even has fans on TikTok.
The resignation of Director Kimberly Cheatle resulted from intense scrutiny of the U.S. Secret Service following an attempt on Trump's life.
Ronald Rowe Jr. took her place as acting director.
A second failed assassination attempt on Trump in September sounded even more alarms.
