Friars Fire ignites near Fashion Valley Mall in San Diego, California.
The fire at Friars is not yet fully contained.
Over a thousand individuals are required to evacuate following a brush fire that started Tuesday afternoon near Fashion Valley Mall in Mission Valley.
The Friars Fire, which started at 12:30 p.m. local time, is currently 0% contained, according to Cal Fire.
According to city data, Zone 1894-A, covering 124 acres, is under mandatory evacuation.
In the evacuation order, officials mentioned an "urgent danger to people's lives."
All residents are asked to leave immediately.
The cause of the fire remains under investigation, according to Cal Fire.
The Linda Vista campus and Linda Vista Innovation Center of the San Diego County Office of Education were ordered to evacuate.
"Please avoid the area if you are heading to an appointment or class, as stated by SDCOE. They will provide updates as the situation progresses."
According to officials, there are over 350 structures in the area and the daytime population is 920.
Due to strong gusty winds and low humidity, San Diego County remains under a Red Flag Warning.
More than 100 acres have been consumed by the Lilac Fire and Pala Fire, which began Tuesday morning near Bonsall and Pala Mesa, and are still endangering homes and businesses.
