In the Bryan Kohberger case, a judge in Idaho hears a defense motion regarding the murders.
In Kohberger's summer murder trial, his defense team and the prosecution will determine which evidence will be presented.
A hearing for the Idaho murders case, where suspect Bryan Kohberger is accused of killing four university students, was announced by the judge on Wednesday, only hours before another scheduled hearing was set to begin on Thursday morning.
Kohberger is challenging a host of evidence in an effort to prevent prosecutors from presenting it at trial, despite being accused of brutally stabbing four University of Idaho students in November 2022.
On November 13, 2022, at 4 a.m., Kohberger is accused of murdering Madison Mogen, Kaylee Goncalves, Xana Kernodle, and Ethan Chapin, all of whom were 21 years old, in a six-bedroom home located near the university campus.
A criminology Ph.D. student at Washington State University, Kohberger, was arrested weeks later at his parents' house in Pennsylvania's Pocono Mountains. He is currently facing four first-degree murder charges and a felony burglary charge for the early morning massacre, during which it is alleged that he snuck into the house near the University of Idaho campus and brutally killed the four innocent students using a large knife.
If convicted, Kohberger could receive the death penalty and is currently being held without bail.
