An organized search for Stanley Kotowski is being held in the Hilton Head community on Monday.
A new video of Stanley Kotowski leaving his family's rental home in Hilton Head, South Carolina, on the day he went missing has been released.
On Aug. 16, a video released by the Beaufort County Sheriff's Office shows Kotowski, 60, leaving his South Sea Pines Drive rental barefoot and walking out into the street. This occurred on the same day his family reported him missing.
In the video, Kotowski seems perplexed as he pauses in the middle of the street and turns around, and has not been spotted since.
"The sheriff's office is still seeking the public's assistance in locating the 60-year-old Stanley Kotowski, who was last seen wearing a dark in color, possibly gray, Coors Light t-shirt, dark in color shorts, possibly dark blue or black, and no shoes."
On Monday at 1 p.m., the Hilton Head community is collaborating with the sheriff's office to conduct a coordinated search for Kotowski.
Kotowski's family is requesting Hilton Head-area residents to contact authorities and examine their security camera footage for any possible sightings of the missing man. Additionally, they are asking home and business owners to search sheds, pools, or other concealed areas for any indications of Kotowski.
"Stan's wife Jackie shared on Facebook that he has been dealing with severe insomnia and increasing anxiety over the past month. During the week of Aug. 19, Stan became paranoid, believing that people, including authorities, were chasing him."
The sheriff's office has been very supportive and is actively searching for Stan, conducting both land and water searches to bring him home.
"If you encounter someone you believe to be Stan, please immediately take a picture, contact BCSO, and try to keep him in your sights. If you say anything, calmly let him know that he is safe, and that his wife (Jackie) and sons are here and looking for him."
The search for Kotowski involves both the South Carolina Department of Natural Resources and the U.S. Coast Guard, according to his family.
Kotowski is a tall man, standing at 6 feet, and weighing approximately 200 pounds. He has a strong Boston accent and may have facial hair.
