A jet ski belonging to Joseph Baricklow, 53, was discovered abandoned, leading to his disappearance.
Over the weekend, a man from Florida fell into the water after rough seas knocked him off his jet ski. However, he was rescued in a dramatic manner and is now safe on land.
On Sunday, the Martin County Sheriff's Office reported that Joseph Baricklow, 53, was missing after his jet ski was found abandoned in the waters off the St. Lucie Inlet.
The agency dispatched deputies from the 100-Shift, along with its Aviation Unit, Community Policing Unit, and Marine Units, to search for Baricklow.
The sheriff's office announced on Facebook that MSCO found the individual clinging to the rocks near the north jetty of the St. Lucie Inlet.
To aid in the rescue, the U.S. Coast Guard was summoned due to the turbulent waters.
The USCG Aviation Survival Technicians successfully rescued Baricklow from the rocks by maneuvering their helicopter and hoisting him to safety.
