Video footage of a K-9 dog ending a strange chase with a naked suspect: "Well done, boy"
A suspect was found by a K-9 named Bronco, who had tracked them down while they were concealed in a trash can.
A K-9 in Washington state assisted police in apprehending a suspect while naked on Friday, as captured in a released bodycam video.
The Pierce County Sheriff's Department made an announcement in a press release titled "K9 Bronco vs. Naked Guy" about the arrest of a suspect. Officials stated that the incident occurred on the morning of Aug. 11, when deputies tried to contact a male who was sleeping in a stolen F550.
"The suspect fled from deputies during a pursuit in King County, which continued into Snohomish County before he crashed and fled on foot."
The sheriff's department identified the suspect, who had several felony warrants and was known to carry firearms, after he left his girlfriend and 4-year-old son in the stolen vehicle.
On Aug. 21, police stopped the couple again after a deputy recognized the stolen vehicle. The suspect and his girlfriend refused to cooperate with authorities.
The footage from the officer's bodycam reveals the situation rapidly deteriorating as the officer fires a hole through the rear window of the stolen car.
"The sheriff's office stated that deputies used a 40mm less lethal round to create a hole in the rear window of the vehicle. The woman then shouted that she was getting dressed."
"The suspect escaped on foot after exiting the vehicle, naked, and jumped several fences before being lost by deputies."
A K-9 officer and a team of officers rushed into a backyard after an officer yelled, "He's running naked! Over the fence!" The dog was then seen sniffing out a trash can, where the suspect was found.
"The suspect attempted to evade law enforcement until he was confronted by K9 Bronco. He was eventually taken into custody without any further attempts to flee."
The sheriff's department commended the deputies and praised the dog, BRONCO, for their excellent performance.
