On Wednesday, at a private Christian elementary school in California, two students were injured in a shooting, and the suspected assailant died.
Just before 2 p.m., the Butte County Sheriff's Office stated that shots were fired at the Feather River Adventist School in Butte County.
Near Palermo, about 65 miles north of Sacramento, the school is located, as reported by FOX 40.
The sheriff's office spokesperson stated that two students were transported to a hospital, one via helicopter, after being shot. The identities of the victims, including their ages and genders, have not been disclosed by authorities.
The suspected gunman, who was not identified, is believed to have died from a self-inflicted gunshot.
The students were being escorted to the Oroville Church of the Nazarene to be reunited with their parents.
According to the school's website, the school serves children K-8 and has a 2022 enrollment of 33 students.
Neither the school nor the sheriff's office responded to Planet Chronicle Digital's request for comment.
