The video depicted the helicopter crash and the cartel members fleeing through the field in La Grulla, Texas.
The cartel members were heard yelling in Spanish, "Go to he--."
The CBP agent stated that the La Grulla area is commonly associated with cartel activity and is often implicated in drug and human smuggling.
At the time of the crash, a UH-72 "Lakota" helicopter from the New York National Guard was transporting three soldiers and a Border Patrol agent.
A helicopter crashed while three National Guard soldiers and a border agent were on a border support mission, according to a press release from Joint Task Force North.
On Friday at approximately 2:50 p.m. MST, while the soldiers and CBP agent were carrying out aviation operations near Rio Grande City, Texas, a crash occurred.
During the crash, two soldiers and a border agent were confirmed dead by authorities.
The third solider was injured, authorities confirmed.
The names of the deceased will not be released until the next of kin have been notified, according to the Joint Task Force North.
The cause of the accident is under investigation, authorities said.
