Thomas Crooks, the President Trump shooter, has been the subject of many misconceptions. The Bethel Park School District has now clarified these misconceptions.
The school district where Thomas Crooks, the would-be assassin of former President Trump, attended high school issued a statement to dispel any misunderstandings.
The Bethel Park School District clarified on Saturday that Crooks was never a member of the school's rifle team and there is no record of him trying out. The team's coach stated that he does not recall meeting him.
"It is possible that Crooks attended a practice, took a shot, and never returned," BPSD wrote. "However, we don't have any record of that happening."
Crooks graduated from Bethel Park High School in May 2022.
Despite being bullied in high school due to his appearance, the district stated that Crooks was academically proficient, consistently attended school, and had no disciplinary incidents related to bullying or threats. He was described as a "quiet, intelligent young man who generally got along with his teachers and classmates."
The district claims that no threats of violence were made by Crooks against the school, stating that an incident from 2019 was investigated and the student involved was disciplined.
"It had no connection whatsoever to Thomas Crooks."
An avid gamer who enjoyed building computers was described by one peer at Bethel Park High School as Crooks.
Jim Knapp, a school counselor, remembered observing Crooks sitting alone during lunch. Although he would occasionally check in on the solitary boy, he would always be told by Crooks that he was happy being by himself.
"Knapp stated to Pittsburgh's Action News 4, "I truly believe this young man has snapped. Evil exists, and it has overtaken him.""
Max Rich, a classmate of Planet Chronicle Digital, described himself as a "quiet" child.
After completing his high school education, Crooks pursued an associate's degree in engineering science from the Community College of Allegheny County and worked as a dietary aide at Bethel Park Skilled Nursing and Rehabilitation Center, BPSD stated.
It would be reckless for us to speculate on Thomas Crooks' state of mind in the two years since we last saw him, the statement concluded.
Planet Chronicle' Rebecca Rosenberg and Reuters contributed to this report.
