This week, a terrorist named Shamsud-Din Jabbar carried out a truck-ramming attack in New Orleans, resulting in the deaths of 14 innocent people and injuries to more than 30 others, leaving many with lifelong scars.

The majority of the victims who passed away were in their 20s and hailed from states including Alabama, Louisiana, Mississippi, New York, New Jersey, and Great Britain. The youngest victim was 18 years old, while the oldest was 63.

The sibling of the New Orleans terror attack suspect has been unmasked as the descent into radicalization.

According to Dr. Jeffrey Elder of the University Medical Center New Orleans, the majority of hospital patients received treatment for "blunt trauma," with a smaller number of patients having gunshot wounds.

Here’s what we know about the survivors.

NBC News reported that Jeremi Sensky, a 51-year-old man from Pennsylvania, was in his wheelchair when he was struck.

Since 1999, Sensky has been paralyzed and his wheelchair was completely bashed with pieces scattered.

He said both legs were broken, but he was fortunate to be alive. He remembered lying on the ground and seeing his wheelchair's parts beside him.

An Alabama resident, Alexis Scott-Windham, was shot in the foot and sustained multiple fractures, according to NOLA.com.

On Bourbon Street, her friends contacted her mother for assistance as she bled profusely, and her mother instructed them to create a tourniquet to manage her blood loss, according to NBC News.

She recounted to WSAZ what transpired and added that she was also struck by the speeding truck.

Suddenly, we hear a lot of screaming and a series of popping noises. In a flash, I turn to the left and see a car speeding towards me. He had his lights off, she said.

"As he approached, I thought, 'This can't be a drunk driver because he would have wrecked by now.' He was driving at a speed of about 70 mph and seemed intent on hitting as many people as possible."

Two Israeli soldiers, who were injured during the Hamas war, have requested anonymity while traveling to the United States as tourists, an Israeli diplomat informed Planet Chronicle Digital.

NOPD attorney Eric Hessler, a former NOPD officer, informed Planet Chronicle Digital that two New Orleans Police Department officers were injured and are expected to fully recover.

Two unidentified officers were on their way to an unrelated call early New Year's morning when a vehicle passed them and struck a crane, according to Hessler.

A group of officers were seen on a street camera video from the morning of the attack, immediately rushing towards danger upon receiving a call about a suspicious vehicle incident on Bourbon Street.

According to NOLA.com, eight individuals remain in the ICU at University Medical Center (UMC).

Those who sought medical attention at UMC had a range of injuries, including severe head injuries, lacerated spleens, bullet grazes, and multiple broken bones, according to an elder who spoke to the outlet.

The FBI stated that prior to his rampage in New Orleans, Jabbar shared videos on Facebook expressing his support for ISIS.

The 14 deceased victims of the attack have been identified, except for one person.

The New Orleans law firm representing a survivor of the New Year's Day terror attack announced it is filing a lawsuit against the City of New Orleans and the New Orleans Police Department for not implementing "basic safety measures" before the attack.

The city's "negligence created the conditions for the tragic events that occurred" on Wednesday, according to Maples & Connick, LLC. The firm stated that the events were both predictable and preventable. The lawsuit will be filed on January 8th.

Many lawsuits may be filed by survivors and families of victims.
