The FBI is offering a $15,000 reward for information leading to the safe return of a missing teenager in Maine.
Last seen in September in New Sweden, Maine, is 14-year-old Stefanie Damron.
A $15,000 reward is being offered by the Boston Division of the FBI and the Maine State Police for help in finding a teenage girl who has been missing for two months.
On Sept. 24, Stefanie Damron, 14, of New Sweden, Maine, went missing. She was last seen leaving her house and entering the woods on West Road in New Sweden the day before.
It's common for the girl to run away from home, authorities said during a news conference on Monday.
"The FBI is offering a reward in hopes of motivating anyone with information about Stefanie's location to come forward. Even the smallest detail could be valuable in finding her. Jodi Cohen, special agent in charge of the FBI Boston Division, stated, "Stefanie's family is desperate to know where she is, and we are fully committed to working with our law enforcement partners to exhaust every investigative resource to find her and bring her home.""
Stefanie is described as having white skin, green eyes, and shoulder-length brown hair. She stands at around 5 feet tall and weighs approximately 130 pounds. Despite being homeschooled, she has limited access to social media, authorities stated.
At the time of her disappearance, she was dressed in blue jeans, a long-sleeved blue shirt, and black Harley-Davidson hiking boots.
Across the United States and in Canada, leads have been pursued by investigators.
"Stefanie's disappearance investigation is ongoing, and the Maine State Police is still committed to finding her. Every lead, no matter how small, is being thoroughly pursued. Colonel William Ross stated that the FBI's support is appreciated, and they continue to urge anyone with information to come forward. Your tip could be the key to resolving this case and providing answers for Stefanie's family."
Anyone with information about Stefanie's location is requested to contact the Maine State Police Houlton Barracks at 1-800-924-2261 or (207) 532-5400. Additionally, tips can be submitted online.
