The FBI has confirmed that the subject of the Tesla Cybertruck investigation was emailed to a podcaster, who used ChatGPT to plan the Trump hotel explosion.

On Tuesday, the FBI confirmed that an email sent from Matthew Livelsberger to Shawn Ryan, a prominent podcaster, was indeed from Livelsberger.

During a press conference, Spencer Evans, the Special Agent in Charge of the FBI in Las Vegas, stated that law enforcement has only confirmed that Livelsberger sent the email, but not its actual content.

Evans confirmed that the document sent to the podcast was indeed from the person who sent it.

"Evans stated, "We're not addressing the content. He's expressing his feelings of being surveilled and guilty, which is evident through his anguish and frustration towards the government.""

"Evans stated that there are many things that have not been explored yet, and they have not determined what is legitimate and what is not. However, they have not released any Department of Defense equities that could endanger people overseas. Beyond this, they have not vetted any of his writings to determine what was in his own head."

Before authorities publicly identified Livelsberger as the subject whose charred remains were found inside the Tesla Cybertruck, Shoemate, a retired U.S. Army intelligence officer with an online following around military content, received an email claiming to be from Livelsberger three days earlier.

The man in Las Vegas cybertruck explosion shared more links in attacks just hours apart.

He highlighted the 2019 U.S. airstrikes in Afghanistan that resulted in civilian casualties, emphasizing the danger of another global conflict.

An Army Green Beret who lived in Colorado Springs, Colorado and deployed twice to Afghanistan, expressed concern about being tracked by the federal government and requested contact with Shawn's podcast.

Shawn paused the interview to check his inbox and found an email from Livelsberger.

Livelsberger requested that Shawn interview him in person or via Zoom to expose our activities in a specific location. He stated that he could do so on December 31, 2024, but after that, he would depart.

Shawn and Shoemate said they sent the emails to the FBI.

What was the purpose of the email sent to the podcaster in relation to the investigation by the Las Vegas Metropolitan Police Sheriff Kevin McMahill? According to McMahill, the email provides insight into Livelsberger's mental state and potential intent. He stated that they are aware of the information available online and are working diligently to address all questions related to the incident.

The FBI and Las Vegas police announced on Tuesday that additional evidence pointed to Livelsberger's suicide by shooting himself while inside the vehicle that exploded, contradicting the podcast's speculation.

At the press conference, authorities revealed that Livelsberger allegedly employed generative artificial intelligence, specifically ChatGPT, in planning the explosion.

McMahill stated that this is the first known instance on U.S. soil where ChatGPT was employed to aid an individual in constructing a specific device.

"The sheriff stated, "It's a concerning moment for us, but it's also instructive. We have been releasing every document we can without endangering anyone's lives. We will continue to do so. Yes, 100%, the ChatGPT was a game changer for us here.""

At the press conference, authorities used ChatGPT entries to determine the number of explosives needed based on Livelsberger's alleged statements.

Dori Koren, Assistant Sheriff, stated that Livelsberger inquired about purchasing fireworks, including the quantity, cost, and equivalence to TNT and other explosive materials. Additionally, Livelsberger questioned the velocity of the bullet fired from a firearm and whether it would ignite the explosives. Furthermore, Livelsberger allegedly asked how to obtain a phone without disclosing any personal identifying information.

OpenAI stated in an emailed message that it is dedicated to ensuring its tools are used "responsibly" and that they are programmed to reject harmful commands.

ChatGPT provided warnings against harmful or illegal activities and referenced publicly available information on the internet. The statement added that the company is collaborating with law enforcement to aid their investigation.

The explosion resulted in minor injuries to seven individuals but caused no significant damage to the Trump International Hotel, according to authorities. It is believed that Livelsberger acted independently.

Authorities discovered a six-page document, or manifesto, at the press conference, but have not yet released it due to ongoing collaboration with Defense Department officials regarding potentially classified material.

They stated that they still need to review contents on a laptop, mobile phone, and smartwatch. Among the items they released on Tuesday was a journal kept by Livelsberger titled "surveillance" or "surveil" log. It revealed that he believed he was being tracked by law enforcement, but he had no criminal record and was not on the police department or the FBI’s "radar," McMahill said.

Livelsberger's correspondence addressed political complaints, societal concerns, and both local and global matters, including the conflict in Ukraine. He stated that the United States was "on the brink of collapse."

Was the Tesla and hotel with the president-elect's name used by Livelsberger to make a political statement?

According to officials, Livelsberger did not hold any animosity towards Trump. In one of his notes, he expressed the belief that the country should unite around both Trump and Elon Musk.
