Several individuals were electrocuted in a "bizarre incident" while swimming in a pool, according to police reports.
A pinched wire on a pool pump was discovered by the police.
Police said that fire and medical personnel were dispatched to a house in the 2600 block of High St. in Logansport, Indiana, at approximately 2:30 p.m.
Five individuals, including two adults and three juveniles, were taken to hospitals for injuries, according to police.
Medical personnel transported two of the juveniles to different hospitals for further treatment.
The Logansport Police Department spokesperson characterized the incident to Indianapolis' FOX 59 as a "fluke accident."
According to the station, a pinched wire on a pool pump caused a protective cover to break, exposing the wire and shocking five swimmers with contact to the pool water.
Indianapolis is approximately a 90-minute drive south of Logansport, which is situated in Northern Indiana.
