Reports indicate that a US-based model, her husband, and child were kidnapped and held captive for 12 hours following their departure from a restaurant in Brazil.
After their ordeal, the family is reportedly 'safe and well.'
Reports indicate that Luciana Curtis, an international model, her photographer husband, Henrique Gendre, and their 11-year-old child were kidnapped and held hostage for 12 hours in her home country Wednesday night.
According to the New York Post, local reports stated that Brazilian police said that armed criminals captured victims outside a restaurant.
A 47-year-old Brazilian-born model, Curtis, has graced the covers of Marie Claire and Cosmopolitan and collaborated with Beyoncé while modeling for brands such as Victoria's Secret and H&M.
She has homes in New York, London and Brazil.
Reports indicate that the family was kidnapped while dining in an upscale neighborhood in São Paulo and forced to drive their own car to a shack on the outskirts of the city, where they were held captive overnight with only a mattress, toilet, and sink.
Early Thursday, the kidnappers stole money from their bank accounts and they were released.
According to the Post, police said that specialist teams found the gang had abandoned the family and fled during the search.
On Wednesday, the oldest child of the couple, who did not join the family for dinner, contacted the police after they failed to return.
According to a representative for Curtis, the family has been freed and is now safe and sound, as reported by the Post.
No arrests have been made.
