Report suggests that the suspected assassin of UnitedHealthcare CEO left a message on bullet casings at the crime scene.
The words "deny," "depose," and "defend" were found written on live rounds and casings at the scene of UnitedHealthcare CEO Brian Thompson's murder.
The suspect who murdered UnitedHealthcare CEO Brian Thompson on Wednesday may have left a message on the bullet casings at the crime scene, according to new evidence.
According to police sources, the assassin's live rounds and casings contained the words "deny," "depose," and "defend."
According to sources, evidence suggests that each bullet and casing had only one word written on it, indicating that the shooter may have been attempting to convey a message.
A video obtained by Planet Chronicle Digital shows Thompson strolling on a New York City sidewalk when a masked man in a black hooded jacket and backpack approaches him from behind and raises a handgun.
The assailant, who is attempting to get away, smacks the gun on the side while walking toward the victim. At one point, the gun appeared to jam. The culprit fires off several shots.
The NYPD stated that after the shooting, the suspect strolled between two vehicles, mounted a bike, and vanished into Central Park.
The NYPD has clarified that the incident did not involve a Citibike, despite previous reports stating that the suspect used one.
The investigators hope that the evidence left behind, such as a cellphone found in an alleyway near the hotel and a cup in a trash can at a nearby Starbucks, will help them identify the shooter.
The company issued a statement expressing their sympathy and astonishment over the day's occurrences.
"The passing of our dear friend and colleague, Brian Thompson, the CEO of UnitedHealthcare, has deeply saddened and shocked us.
