Report: Ex-girlfriend of Las Vegas suspect shares days-old texts of him boasting about Tesla Cybertruck
Matthew Livelsberger's ex-girlfriend received a text from him stating that the Tesla Cybertruck made him feel like Batman.
The FBI received text messages from an ex-girlfriend of the Las Vegas explosion suspect, Matthew Livelsberger, who rented a Tesla Cybertruck, boasting about it playfully just days ago.
Alicia Arritt and Livelsberger were in a relationship from 2018 to 2021. However, she told The Denver Gazette that it was strange that he contacted her three days before the New Year's Day explosion outside President-elect Trump's Las Vegas hotel.
After divorcing his first wife, Sara, in 2018, Livelsberger met the newspaper. However, Arrit stated that they stopped communicating after a difficult separation in 2021, and both parties had moved on.
"Matt was the kindest man I ever knew, Arritt told the Gazette, explaining that Livelsberger bought her a house when her mother became ill and helped her get through a difficult time."
On New Year's Day evening in Colorado Springs, the FBI arrived at Arritt's door after tracing messages from Livelsberger's account. However, she was not at home at the time, as reported by the Gazette.
She said that FBI agents met with her at 9 a.m. on Thursday morning.
She demonstrated to the agents how Livelsberger sent her photos and videos of the gold Cybertruck he rented on Dec. 29.
He rented a Tesla Cybertruck and wrote her at 9 a.m. Sunday, "It's the s---," according to the Gazette.
Google 'Kobe 2 shoes,'" Livelsberger added. "They match the ones I had when I was little.
"I feel like Batman or halo."
Livelsberger allegedly planned to shoot himself to death inside a Cybertruck loaded with explosives moments before it detonated outside Trump's hotel in Las Vegas New Year's morning, despite Arritt's claim that she was unaware of his plans.
Livelsberger was an honorable man who loved his country and was politically conservative, as described by Arritt. His family reportedly saw him as a supporter of Trump.
Livelsberger had two surgeries on his back after serving as a paratrooper, and she noticed a change in him in 2019 after he returned from a tour in the Middle East with a traumatic brain injury. She said Livelsberger became isolated, explaining to the newspaper she thinks his depressive symptoms went untreated because "it’s not acceptable to seek treatment when someone is in Special Forces."
She said that "he wanted to focus on his career" was one of the reasons they broke up.
According to The Gazette, Arritt broke down in tears after investigators identified Livelsberger through a World War I plane tattoo on his right arm.
She told the paper that she wasn't sure if she could have stopped him.
According to the Gazette, Arritt previously worked as an Army nurse at Landstuhl Regional Medical Center in Germany.
For nearly two decades, Green Beret Livelsberger devoted his service to the military, primarily stationed at Fort Carson and on missions in Germany.
Livelsberger smiled behind her as Arritt shared a photo of her with a wildflower in her hair.
According to the Gazette, she claimed it was taken while the two were at "spy school" in Washington state.
Livelsberger, after three years in a relationship, remarried Jennifer Davis. However, six days before the attack, Jennifer broke up with Livelsberger.
She accused him of cheating on her around the time she gave birth to their daughter, which led to a fight and his departure from their home in Colorado Springs the day after Christmas.
