Report: Crowd on Bourbon Street injured, driver dies in crash
A weapon was reportedly fired by the driver on Bourbon Street in New Orleans.
According to authorities, a driver plowed a car into a crowd on Bourbon Street in New Orleans, resulting in the deaths of at least 10 people and injuries to dozens more.
A weapon was fired by the driver who hit the crowd and a large police presence was reported at the scene.
"A mass casualty incident has occurred on Canal and Bourbon Street. Stay away from the area," NOLA Ready advised on social media.
A mass casualty incident is currently being worked on by the 8th District, involving a vehicle that drove into a large crowd on Canal and Bourbon Street, according to city officials.
According to the NOLA City website, 30 injured patients have been transported by NOEMS and 10 fatalities have occurred.
According to WGNO, the incident took place at approximately 3:15 a.m. near the intersection of Bourbon Street and Iberville.
Police have not confirmed the number of victims involved in the incident.
