Protesters at UCLA demand vegan, gluten-free, and EpiPen supplies for their anti-Israel demonstration.
Anti-Israel encampment organizers are requesting specific items, such as zip ties and gluten-free food without nuts, to sustain their protest.
Supporters of anti-Israel protesters on the University of California, Los Angeles campus are being asked to donate items such as vegan food, gas masks, and EpiPens to aid their acts of disobedience.
An online Google document by Students for Justice in Palestine at UCLA lists the items needed by protesters at the UCLA Palestine Solidarity Encampment.
The group declared that they would not depart until their requirements were fulfilled.
The list comprises airsoft goggles, knee and elbow pads, utility gloves without reinforced knuckles, bright flashlights with strobe, rope, zip ties, skater helmets, shields, wood to construct a barrier, and non-steroid inhalers.
No packaged foods, coffee, bagels, bananas, or nuts are desired for lunch. Instead, please provide hot gluten-free food.
The list of needs includes sleeping pads, different types of batteries, electric and solar-powered generators, and Aquaphor, an over-the-counter skin ointment. Sunscreen is not required, as per the list.
The BDS movement is being promoted by organizers, who are requesting that donors ensure the items they donate comply with the movement's guidelines.
"Did they all discard their iPhones to adhere to BDS guidelines?" Stop Antisemitism, a nonprofit organization that combats antisemitism, responded to the list online.
After a Palestinian solidarity encampment was set up on campus last week, UCLA canceled classes Wednesday due to a fight between anti-Israel and pro-Israel supporters.
On Wednesday, National Students for Justice in Palestine stated that Zionist mobs attacked students at UCLA with physical violence and police batons, resulting in fractured skulls, shattered wrists, and the entire encampment being pepper-sprayed.
On Wednesday, UCLA Chancellor Gene Block stated in a message to students and staff that a group of "instigators" visited Royce Quad to attack the pro-Palestinian encampment on campus.
"Despite differing opinions on the encampment, the attack on our students, faculty, and community members was completely unacceptable, according to Block. This incident has deeply shaken our campus and, along with other recent abhorrent events that have been shared on social media, has further harmed our community's sense of safety."
UCLA's history has been tarnished by a "dark chapter" of fighting, which may result in "arrests, expulsions and dismissals," according to Block. An investigation into the attack is currently underway.
The SJP included a "Chant Sheet" with pro-Palestinian chants during the protests, such as "Free Free Palestine," "Every time the media lies, a neighborhood in Gaza dies!" and "No more sayings please, divest our tuition fees."
