Prosecutor discloses gruesome details of unidentified victim's murder in serial killings case.
The Gilgo Beach Task Force in New York is working to identify the 'Asian Doe' found on the beach.
On Monday, Suffolk County District Attorney Ray Tierney disclosed new details about the Gilgo Beach serial killings as a multi-agency task force continues to investigate unsolved cold case murders following the indictment of local architect Rex Heuermann for a half-dozen slayings in the same area.
In May 2010, 23-year-old Shannan Gilbert disappeared after making a frantic 911 call, and police discovered 10 other bodies on Ocean Parkway, which is about 45 miles east of New York City near Gilgo Beach.
The National Center for Missing and Exploited Children created a new composite sketch of "Asian Doe," whose remains were discovered on Ocean Parkway in Gilgo Beach on April 4, 2011. Tierney's office is asking for the public's help identifying him and has placed the time of death at least five years prior to the discovery of his remains. Several victims remain unidentified.
The unidentified remains of a biological male victim were traced back to southern China. He was between 17 and 23 years old at the time of death and stood between 5 feet, 3 inches and 5 feet, 9 inches tall, according to authorities. Tierney disclosed on Monday that he was wearing women's clothing, including Bill Blass pants, a bra, and shirts from Rafaella and Chrysantheme.
Since his arrest in July 2023, Heuermann, 61, has been quietly imprisoned, accused of having a perverse search history for themes of torture, including the phrases "Asian twink tied up" and "Asian escorts Manhattan."
Tierney described the cold case murder of Doe as "homicide by blunt force trauma," but no charges have been filed against him.

In six murder cases, Heuermann has pleaded not guilty to charges of torturing and killing his victims, some of whom were dismembered and their remains scattered across different locations.
The Gilgo Four, consisting of Melissa Barthelemy, 24; Megan Waterman, 22; Amber Costello, 27; and Maureen Brainard-Barnes, 25, were found dead near Gilgo Beach. Tierney's office has charged Heuerman with their murders.
In addition to the charges related to the deaths of Jessica Taylor, 20, and Sandra Costilla, 28, who were dismembered and discarded in both the Gilgo Beach area and eastern Long Island, he also faces charges.
